A 40-year-old woman has died in a road accident when a public bus hit her as she rode an electric scooter in Istanbul's Ümraniye district.

İlknur Akkaya, who was driving an e-scooter on Oct. 25, was thrown onto a busy road when the door of a car she passed by suddenly opened.

The woman abruptly fell in front of a public bus that was moving on the side lane.

"The moment he started climbing, the 10-kV current hit him. He died immediately," the verdict read. His mother, sister and brother had sued his employer for compensation.

Vlinga is not the only employee of the Operator for the Distribution of Electricity, OSHEE, who lost his life lately on the job or suffered serious accidents.

The spokesperson of the Romanian Police, Georgian Dragan, said on Wednesday that in the first seven months of 2021 the number of serious road accidents dropped significantly, yet the number of persons deceased is slightly higher than in previous years.

During the period 2018-2019 a total of 4305 employment accidents were registered in Bulgaria. This was stated by the social minister Biser Petkov, BGNES reported.

Two people died when the car they were in veered off its course and crashed into a street light on the Agia-Larisa highway, in central Greece, early Sunday morning.

HYDERABAD, India (AP) — A bus carrying pilgrims from a Hindu temple in the hills of south India plunged off a road Tuesday, killing at least 55 people including four children, officials said. At least 33 others were injured.

A crash between a car and a school bus took place this morning on the road between Kubrat and Zavet.

The crash happened at about 7.00 a.m. this morning.

At the accident between the school bus and the car, the driver of the car, who was taken to a hospital, was injured.

She is only 24 years old.
