Tears, prayers as Asia remembers tsunami dead 20 years on

Tearful mourners prayed on Thursday as ceremonies were held across Asia to remember the 220,000 people who were killed two decades ago when a tsunami hit coastlines around the Indian Ocean in one of the world's worst natural disasters.
Exxon settles Indonesia torture lawsuit
ExxonMobil has settled a long-running lawsuit brought by Indonesian villagers who alleged human rights violations by Indonesian military officials providing security to the oil giant.
The two sides agreed to resolve "all matters," said a joint filing from the opposing counsel that did not disclose terms of the agreement.

6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Registered in Indonesia
A 6.2 magnitude earthquake was registered southwest of Indonesia's Aceh Autonomous Region on Sumatra Island, Reuters reported, citing the American Geophysical Institute.
The depth of the earthquake was 20.3 km.

Turkish Red Crescent distributes Eid meat in Indonesia
The Turkish Red Crescent has distributed meat to people in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar, Indonesia.
Murat Ellialtı, the Deputy Secretary General of the Turkish Red Crescent Society, said as many as 100 cows have been slaughtered and distributed to 3,000 heads of families.

Two Indonesian Christians were publicly flogged in conservative Aceh province Feb. 27 for playing a children’s entertainment game seen as violating Islamic law, as hundreds of onlookers ridiculed them and took pictures.

Indonesian police arrest 140 in raid on gay club
Indonesian police have detained more than 140 men after raiding what authorities described as a gay prostitution ring being run out of an entertainment venue in the north of the capital, Jakarta, a police spokesman said on Monday. Jakarta police spokesman Argo Yuwono said in a statement officials had “detained 141 people who violated pornography laws”.
