Two men killed in car crash in Aetolia-Acarnania
Two men in their early 20s have been killed in road crash in the west of the country when the car they were travelling in left the road and crashed into a tree.
The fatal accident occurred on the provincial road between Stamna and Aitoliko in Aetolia-Acarnania.

Missing farmer in western Greece crushed by tractor
A 65-year-old farmer missing since Wednesday in western Greece was found dead on Thursday, crushed by his tractor, state-run broadcaster ERT reported.

Meteorologists forecast slight dip in sweltering weather
After a sweltering weekend that saw temperatures reach as high as 39 degrees Celsius in the Peloponnese, meteorologists forecast a dip early in the week.
According to counting stations of the National Observatory of Athens, temperatures reached 38.9 in Messinia, 38.5 in Aitoloacarnania, 38.2 in Ileia, 37.7 in Agrinio and 37.3 in Trikala.
Molester, 65, nabbed in Agrinio
A 65-year-old man faced a prosecutor in Agrinio Tuesday on charges of sexually molesting a minor.
According to investigators, the suspect met the girl online and managed to lure the 17-year-old from her home on the Ionian island of Corfu to Antirio on the Greek mainland, where the suspect collected her and drove her to the village of Thermos in Aitoloacarnania.

Greek villages are vanishing
Vassilis was born in Aghios Ioannis and is one of about 10 permanent residents who remain in the village. Aghios Ioannis is part of the Thermo municipality, in the Aitoloakarnania region of western Greece. The municipality has a total population of 9,299. Aghios Ioannis is 15 kilometers from Thermo, the area's main town.
