Sofia Airport: No Bomb Found after Security Check, Bulgaria PM 'Furious'

Specialized anti-terror squads have found no explosive device inside a minivan parked in front of Sofia Airport Terminal 1 building, the Interior Ministry says.

Earlier on Tuesday, a "suspicious package" was allegedly discovered, with airport officials first confirming there was a bomb in the vehicle and Interior Ministry officials then denying.

Turkish Airlines plane diverted to Canada after bomb threat: Police

A Turkish Airlines plane flying from New York to Istanbul was diverted to Canada on Nov. 22 because of a bomb threat, but police said no explosives were found.
 
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said the plane, with 256 passengers and crew, landed at Halifax Stanfield International Airport early Sunday after being alerted to the bomb threat.
 

Oil-rich Saudi to privatize airports to diversify economy

Saudi Arabia's civil aviation authority has announced a plan to privatize its airports by 2020, as the kingdom looks to diversify its economy to boost non-oil income.

The initiative was set to be launched in the first quarter of 2016 with the privatization of the capital's main international airport, said the state-owned General Authority for Civil Aviation.

Turkish company receives preliminary qualification to bid in Philippines airport project

A consortium which includes Turkey's TAV Airports (TAV) has received preliminary qualification to place a bid for the Private-Public-Partnership (PPP) Regional Airports Project in the Philippines, said the company in a written statement to the Public Disclosure Platform on Sept. 21.
