Germany's Hamburg airport shuts terminal as strike leads to overcrowding

Germany?s Hamburg airport temporarily shut its terminal building this morning after a strike by security staff caused overcrowding.

The airport said police closed the doors for two hours after queues of up to five hours for security checks built up.

?Passengers have little chance of making their flights today,? a spokeswoman said, adding the building was re-opened.

TAV to set up IT system of huge airport terminal

TAV Information Technologies has won the communication technologies tender held for the Abu Dhabi Airport Midfield Terminal Building, which will be the world's largest terminal constructed under one roof when completed. TAV IT will undertake the IT infrastructure set-up and maintenance support services of the terminal, the company said by a written statement.

Bulgaria Boosts Security Level at Transportation Centres

Bulgarian Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski ordered the increase of the level of security at transport centres such as airports, ports, bus and railway stations.

Ruse to Host Bulgaria’s 1st Municipally-owned Airport

Ruse will become the first Bulgarian city with a municipally-owned airport.

After three unsuccessful attempts to find a concessionaire, Bulgaria's Transport Ministry adopted a decision to transfer the airport to the Ruse Municipality.

The proposal was approved by the Ruse Municipal Council in a unanimous vote on Thursday.
