Katerina Sakellaropoulou to Be Honored with Athens’ Democracy Award by Haris Doukas
The President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, is scheduled to visit the Stoa of Attalos at 18:45, where she will be presented with the “Democracy Award of the City of Athens” by Athens Mayor Haris Doukas, as part of the Athens Democracy Forum. Ancient Agora – Kerameikos: New fire protection system for Athens’ significant archaeological sites
The Ministry of Culture is fortifying the archaeological sites and museums of the Ancient Agora and Kerameikos with modern fire protection systems. This project, with a total budget of €6,500,000, is deemed necessary due to the aging fire infrastructure and the growing impact of the climate crisis.

Agora of Aigai ancient city comes to light
An agora (city square) has been discovered during the excavations in the 2,700-year-old ancient city of Aigai in the western province of Manisa.
While works continue to unearth the agora, located right next to the parliament building, bull-head reliefs and inscriptions related to the god Apollo were also found on the columns in the square during the excavations.

Ancient Nikopolis site excavation brings new findings to light
The Ministry of Culture announced on Wednesday that archaeological excavations of the ancient Nikopolis Agora in the Epirus region of northern Greece have brought new findings to light.
According to the ministry, the new findings will provide archaeologists with a better understanding of Roman architecture and city planning.

Female choir captivates at ancient stoa
The female vocal ensemble Chores performs under the direction of Greece's Eurovision entry, Marina Satti, at the Stoa of Attalos in the Ancient Agora of Athens on Wednesday. The ensemble presented choral arrangements of traditional Greek melodies, intertwined with new transcriptions of folk songs, written especially for Chores by contemporary composers.
