Turkey rescues 330 Greece-bound Syrians amid record surge of refugees
The Turkish coastguard on August 11 rescued 330 Syrians adrift in the Aegean Sea after failing to reach Greece, as the number of migrants attempting the treacherous passage to Europe surges.
Members of the group said they had been travelling on eight small boats. They included dozens of children, at least five of them newborn, and women, some of whom were visibly pregnant.

11 Syrian nationals have died when an overcrowded minibus they were travelling in hit a wall in the northwestern Turkish province of Bal?kesir, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Aug. 8 citing local officials.
According to reports, eleven people died and 29 others were injured in the accident near the Sapc? region.

Number of Syrian Refugees Surpasses Four Million - UN
The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced that the number of Syrians fleeing war and persecution has now surpassed four million.
This has made the Syrian conflict the worst crisis for almost a quarter of a century, while Syrian refugees represent the biggest refugee population from a single conflict in a generation.
