Turkey tops UNHCR's refugee hosting list with 2.9 million refugees
Turkey tops the list of refugee hosting countries in the world, hosting 2.9 million of the world's 65 million refugees, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) stated on June 20.
Most of the refugees hosted by Turkey are from Syria and Iraq, with the UNHCR putting the number of Iraqi refugees in Turkey at around 30,000.

Turkish police conduct raid on 1,000 farm labor camp tents in Adana
Police conducted a raid on around 1,000 tents housing Syrian and Turkish agricultural workers early on June 13 in the southern province of Adana as part of "peace operations" to maintain public safety and prevent possible terrorist attacks in the country, Doğan News Agency reported.

Washington's UN envoy to travel to Jordan, Turkey
U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley will make her first trip overseas this week as Washington's envoy to the United Nations, traveling to Jordan and Turkey to focus on the plight of Syrian refugees.
Haley will meet with government officials and representatives of non-governmental organizations and UN agencies during the visit from May 19 to 25.
