Acropolis Museum: “Treasures of Ancient Basilicata” Exhibition on a Little-Known Ancient Civilization

An ancient civilization, unknown to many, is revealed in the new temporary exhibition titled “Treasures of Ancient Basilicata – The Invisible Heritage,” which will take place in the temporary exhibition hall of the Acropolis Museum from October 17, 2024, to January 31, 2025.

Ancient mass graves discovered in Greek capital

Archaeologists have discovered two mass graves near the Greek capital containing the skeletons of 80 men who may have been followers of ancient would-be tyrant Cylon of Athens.

Regional archaeological services director Stella Chryssoulaki laid out the theory Thursday as she unveiled the findings at the Central Archaeological Council, the custodians of Greece's ancient heritage.

There would be no Greek debt if the Ancients hadn’t invented math and money!

Greece is in debt. It owes over 323 billion and counting! And as International Monetary Fund (IMF) Chief Christine Lagarde so rightly coined it… “a debt is a debt”. Of course, were it not for the ancient Greeks there may not have been anything to create debt with in the first place.
