Some 11 PKK terrorists neutralized in N Iraq

A total of 11 PKK terrorists have been neutralized in northern Iraq, the Turkish Defense Ministry and the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT) have announced.

The ministry said that five PKK terrorists were neutralized by the Turkish army in the regions of Claw-Lock and Claw-Tiger operations in northern Iraq.

Turkish fighter jets "neutralized" three PKK terrorists as part of counter-terrorism operations in northern Iraq, the National Defense Ministry said on April 18. 
The terrorists, who were detected by reconnaissance and surveillance activities, were neutralized in Avashin-Basyan region of northern Iraq, the ministry said on Twitter.

Turkish soldier killed in terrorist attack in Iraq

A Turkish soldier was killed in a terrorist attack in northern Iraq, the National Defense Ministry said on April 15. 

"On April 15, 2020, in the Hakurk region of northern Iraq, a hero fellow soldier was martyred by the explosion of a mine/handmade explosive previously placed by terrorists from the separatist terrorist organization PKK," the ministry said in a statement.

Turkey 'neutralizes' 8 PKK terrorists in northern Iraq

Turkish jets "neutralized" eight PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, the Defense Ministry announced on March 28.

The terrorists were neutralized in the Metina region in an air strike, the ministry said on Twitter, adding that operations would continue.

Turkish authorities often use the term "neutralized" to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.

Turkish security forces "neutralized" three PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, the Defense Ministry announced on March 12.

The terrorists were neutralized in Metina and Gara regions in an air-backed operation, the ministry said in a tweet.

The ministry added that Turkey's anti-terror operations will continue resolutely in the region.
