August 2011 Turkey-Iraq cross-border raids

Turkish security forces neutralized three PKK militants in northern Iraq as part of Operation Claw, Turkish Defense Ministry said on June 1.

Turkish jets destroyed weapon pits, shelters and munition depots used by PKK militants in the Avasin-Basyan and Metina regions of northern Iraq as part of the Operation Claw against the illegal group, the National Defense Ministry said on May 30.

Turkey pounded shelters of PKK's ringleaders in northern Iraq's Mount Qandil in an air operation on early on March 30, according to a statement from Turkish Defense Ministry.     

At least six PKK militants were "neutralized" on Jan. 20 in northern Iraq, the Turkish Defense Ministry has announced.

A total of 40 outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were "neutralized" during counterterrorism operations across Turkey in the past week, the Interior Ministry said on July 9.

Turkey is in contact with Iran about conducting a military operation against outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the northern Iraqi region of Kandil by the Iranian border, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşolu said on June 13. 

At least two militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were "neutralized" in the southeastern Mardin province, the Turkish military said in a statement on May 10.
