North Macedonia to Introduce Electricity Saving Measures

The government of the Republic of North Macedonia adopted measures to save electricity up to 15 percent. Recommendations are provided for households and companies, and specific obligations are introduced for state institutions, which must be complied with, otherwise sanctions will follow, MIA reported.

Cash is still king for Turks

Most Turks still prefer making payments in cash over other means of transactions, a recent study by the Central Bank has found.

In terms of payment methods, nearly 62 percent of participants of the bank survey identified themselves as "cash users" and 9 percent as "card users." Some 30 percent said they go in between.

Cash machines to be out of order for upgrades early on Tuesday

Ljubljana – Bank card users will not be able to use ATMs in the early morning hours on Tuesday, 12 January, due to communication infrastructure upgrades.

Bankart company said it will be performing works on communication infrastructure, which means that a majority of cash machines all across the country will be out of order for 30 minutes.

More arson attacks on ATMs in Athens suburb

Police in Athens on Friday were seeking the perpetrators behind arson attacks on ATMs in the northern Athens suburb of Halandri that caused damage but no injuries.
According to police, the unidentified assailants used homemade explosive devices to set alight one cash machine near the suburb's town hall at around 3 a.m. and another outside a supermarket about an hour later.
