Most of the public officials who were involved in levying a massive tax fine against the Doğan Group in the late 2000s have been dismissed due to alleged links to the Gülenist organization, according to officials from the media group.

Arts and culture are a must for free thought, Aydın Doğan Foundation President Hanzade Doğan Boyner has said, adding that only societies with free thinking can move forward.

Doğan Holding's Ankara representative, Barbaros Muratoğlu, has been detained on the grounds that "he was in contact with certain people who have FETÖ [Fethullahist Terror Organization] connections."
