A senior executive of the Doğan Group, the leading independent media group in Turkey, offered his resignation today amid allegations in social media that he repeatedly maintained correspondence with Berat Albayrak, the Minister of Energy and the son-in-law of President Tayyip Erdoğan, and the CEO of the rival Sabah newspaper, Serhat Albayrak, who is also the brother of the Energy Minister.

Mehmet Ali Yalçındağ resigns as Doğan Media coordinator
Doğan Media Group coordinator Mehmet Ali Yalçındağ announced his resignation from the post with a written statement issued on Sept. 30.
Here is Yalçındağ's statement:
"I have held different posts in institutions that are part of the Doğan Group since 1989, assuming high-level responsibility. I have been in charge of the coordination of Doğan media institutions since 2016.
Clinton Global Initiative holds final meeting
The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), which has created more than 3,600 commitments to improve lives, held its 12th and final annual meeting in New York last week, with the attendance of more than 100 high level high level guests, including Hürriyet chair Vuslat Doğan Sabancı and Doğan Holding chair Begümhan Doğan Faralyalı from Turkey.
