Prosecutors propose strict conditions for Golden Dawn MPs' release

Two public prosecutors on Tuesday proposed strict conditions to accompany the scheduled release on March 29 of Golden Dawn chief Nikos Michaloliakos (photo) and the party?s second-in-command, Christos Pappas, after their 18-month maximum detention period ends.

Both Golden Dawn officials are facing charges of organizing and leading a criminal organization.

Zagreb Mayor Released on Bail For 2 Million Euro

The mayor of the Croatian capital has been released from custody after a judge accepted an offer of 2 million euro in bail.

Earlier this month, Bandic offered a house worth around 750,000 euro for his release from detention.

Eleven others arrested in the same case have also been released from custody with bails ranging from 13,000 to 587,000 euro.

Zagreb Court Refuses Mayor's Bail Offer

A Zagreb court on Monday refused bail for Mayor Milan Bandic as he is investigated for corruption. The eight other suspects in the same case were released on bail.

Bandic and a total of 15 other persons, some of them close associates in the city administration and in Zagreb Holding - a city-owned company managing important services - were arrested 15 days ago.

One of eight suspects remanded over attack on Mesolongi police station

One of eight people arrested on Wednesday night after an attack on a police precinct in Mesolongi, western Greece, was remanded in pretrial custody on Friday.

Two other suspects, aged 19 and 20, were released on bail, while the other five were granted unconditional release.

Municipal Officials in Brezovo Charged over Pension Fund Fraud Scheme

The Plovdiv District Prosecutor's Office has pressed charges against the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Brezovo Municipality, the Municipal Secretary, and a banking official in a case concerning numerous flawed attestations by a notary.

The four were arrested in a special operation of the State Agency for National Security (DANS) on Thursday.
