13-year-old Turkish pianist wins competition in Germany
A 13-year-old Turkish student has won the International Pianele Piano Competition in Germany, becoming the youngest pianist ever to achieve this feat.
Arya Su Gülenç from the northwestern province of Bursa was one of the four winners of the competition held in Fulda, Germany, on Aug. 6, as she was hailed as a "Wonder Child" in the German press.
Ballet diptych A Viennese Evening premieres at Cankarjev dom
Ljubljana – Cankarjev Dom, Slovenia’s biggest arts and culture centre, will host the premiere of the ballet A Viennese Evening on Thursday night. The ballet diptych, choreographed by Renato Zanella, is a co-production of Cankarjev Dom and SNG Ljubljana Opera and Ballet.
New Year concert by Istanbul State Opera and Ballet
The Istanbul State Opera and Ballet (IDOB) will present a Vienna-themed concert for the New Year, performing a program made up of works by famous Austrian composer Johann Strauss. The concert will take place on Dec 27 at Zorlu PSM and on Jan 3 and 5, 2019 at the Kadıköy Süreyya Opera.
Underground Youth Orchestra | Athens | December 30
Conducted and directed by Costas Iliadis, the Underground Youth Orchestra - a local ensemble of 45 music students aged 10-24 and three professional musicians - will perform a special holiday concert at the Benaki Museum's Pireos Street annex on Saturday, December 30.

Opera in the Park Festival Begins in Bulgaria's Sofia
The summer festival Opera in the Park organized annually by Bulgaria's Sofia Opera and Ballet in the Park of the National Military Academy will be held between July 4-July 27.
The festival program includes the ballet Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky, Giselle by Adolphe Adam, Don Quixote by Ludwig Minkus and Zorba the Greek by Mikis Theodorakis, Bulgaria's National Radio informs.
