Slain prosecutor Mehmet Selim Kiraz has been commemorated at a ceremony held at the Istanbul Courthouse on March 29, where he was murdered in a terror attack in 2015.

An Istanbul court has ordered authorities to conduct an analysis at the scene where Berkin Elvan, a boy who died nine months after being hit by a police teargas canister during the 2013 Gezi Park protests, was shot.

Twenty police officers must testify in the killing of Berkin Elvan, a 14-year-old who died after being shot by a tear gas canister by police during the Gezi Park Protests in 2013, an Istanbul court ruled on Dec. 13.

On July 6, an Istanbul court rejected a demand from the family of the young Gezi Park protests victim Berkin Elvan to arrest a police officer charged with killing Elvan "with probable intent."

The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) has prepared a list of 12 guidelines warning participants in the party's "justice march" from Ankara to Istanbul against any "provocations," its Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said on June 27.

A court has rejected the arrest demand for a police officer who is suspected of killing Berkin Elvan, a 14-year-old who died after being shot by a tear gas canister by police during the Gezi Park Protests in June 2013. 

The police officer, identified only by the initials F.D., denied the accusations, saying that he did not kill anyone. 

Two people who appeared in a viral video in which a man called for secularism in the Okmeydanı district of Istanbul were arrested on Jan. 3 on charges of "openly provoking people to hatred and enmity." 

The Istanbul 17th Court of Serious Crimes has accepted an indictment regarding the death of 14-year-old Berkin Elvan, who was killed with a tear gas canister during the Gezi protests in June 2013.

The indictment was completed on Dec. 7 after nearly three years of investigation, with the prosecutor saying the police officer had displayed "probable intent" in killing the boy.
