At least four dead, 12 trapped in copper mine in southeast Turkey
The bodies of four workers were found and an extensive search to find 12 others was ongoing after a massive landslide occurred at a copper mine in the Şirvan district of the southeastern province of Siirt late on Nov. 17.

Pregnant cat arrives at family health center to give birth in Turkey's east
A pregnant cat arrived in a family health center to give birth in the eastern province of Bitlis.
The cat, which was struggling to give birth, entered the health center in Bitlis' Tatvan and started meowing in pain, daily Hürriyet reported on April 13.

Van's ancient city in danger of vanishing
A 5,000-year-old ancient city on the shores of Lake Van is in danger of vanishing because it has not been taken under protection.
Bitlis Eren University academic Associated Professor Mehmet Demirta? said the ancient city was registered by the Culture and Tourism Ministry in 1986.
