Warren Buffett’s final charity lunch draws record $19M bid
An anonymous bidder has shelled out a record $19 million for a private lunch with billionaire Warren Buffet at a steakhouse in New York City.
The meal with the Berkshire Hathaway CEO was offered on an eBay auction to benefit the San-Francisco-based charity GLIDE, which helps homeless people and those in poverty. The winner can bring up to seven guests.

Warren Buffett said he would be happy if his conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway Inc. owned more than 5 percent of Apple Inc.'s stock, including if the iPhone maker bought back more of its shares.

Ethniki Insurance deal to be funded by giants?
Exin Financial Group has pledged that by end-January it will have submitted the details of the funding needed to acquire Ethniki Insurance. So far the group is said to have informed the monitoring authorities and National Bank of Greece that Pimco and Berkshire Hathaway will participate in the deal's financing.

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway will buy Precision Castparts, a leading metal products supplier to the aerospace industry, for $37.2 billion, the companies said on Aug. 10 in a joint statement.
Warren Buffett buys Greek island
Warren Buffett, the multi-millionaire American business magnate and investor has reportedly bought the Greek island of Agios Thomas, located on the northwestern side of the island of Egina in the Saronic Gulf. In a joint venture with Italian millionaire Alessandro Proto, the two men closed the deal by reportedly paying out 15 million euros last Thursday.
