State-owned Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) was fined 77 million euros ($87.3 million) by EU antitrust regulators on Monday for blocking rivals' access to key gas infrastructure in Bulgaria over a five-year period to 2015, reports Reuters. 

Miners and energy workers will protest in Sofia to protect power generation from Bulgarian coal. The rally is organised by Podkrepa trade union through the centre of the capital city, starting from Knyaz Aleksandar I Sq. at 1.00 pm, reports Focus News Agency. 

The main role of the Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) is to support financially its subsidiaries such as Toplofikatsia Sofia EAD, the capital city's district heating company, in order to protect energy security.

Caretaker Energy Minister Nikolay Pavlov has said that state energy companies Bulgargaz, Bulgartransgaz and the Bulgarian Energy Holding have already drawn up a position on commitments proposed by Gazprom in the case with the European Commission, BNR reported.

Minister of Energy Nikolay Pavlov informs that at the moment the Bulgarian state - owned companies Bulgarian Energy Holding, Bulgargaz and Bulgartransgaz are working hard on the preparation of detailed analyses of the proposals for commitments, submitted by Gazprom at the EC, according to BNR.
