Restoration of Thessaly railroad to cost €463 mln, minister says
Repairing the railroad network in Thessaly, Central Greece, after the extensive damage wreaked by Storm Daniel in September 2023 will cost 463 million euros (including VAT), Infrastructure & Transport Minister Christos Staikouras has told a parliamentary committee.
Checking railway link of Peloponnese with Attica
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Nikos Tachiaos inspected railway projects connecting the northern Peloponnese with Attica on Monday.
These projects involve contracts related to the railway network in Loutraki and Rio.

Fylla Bridge on Evia reopens
The reconstructed Fylla Bridge on Evia, which was damaged by floods in 2020, reopened on Friday.
The bridge, located in the island's municipality of Halkidea and which passes over the Lilandas River, was destroyed by Storm Thalia, which wreaked havoc on Evia in early August 2020.

Electric buses begin trial runs on streets of capital
Test runs began in Athens on Tuesday for 32 of 140 new electric buses that road transport organization OSY has bought from Chinese company Yutong.
Based on the supply contract, they will have to circulate 18 hours a day, without passengers, until they complete 5,000 km in daily traffic conditions.
Greece-Bulgaria-Romania trilateral meeting on establishing transport corridor
Ministers from Greece, Bulgaria and Romania held a working meeting in Sofia on Thursday to discuss the development of a transport corridor which will start from the port of Alexandroupolis and end in ports of the Black Sea and the trade routes of the Danube, through Bulgaria.

Athens transport fleet to get 100 new eco-friendly buses
Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Staikouras on Tuesday signed a contract for the purchase of 100 compressed natural gas (CNG) articulated buses.
The deal was inked with the head of Iveco Bus' Europe Commercial Operations, Giorgio Zino.
The 18-meter buses will be added to the Athens public transport fleet.
North Road Axis of Crete tender progressing
The final contractor for the construction of the Hania-Hersonissos section of the North Road Axis of Crete highway will have been found by early summer, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Staikouras said in Hania on Monday, noting that the concession contract will be signed by the end of the year.
