Garnbret wins another world cup event
Lausanne – Climber Janja Garnbret continued her winning streak on Saturday, taking first place in women’s lead event in Villars, Switzerland, earning her 50th world cup podium and 34th first place.
The Olympic gold medallist was the only climber in male and female competition to make it to the top of both climbing walls in the semifinals and finals at yesterday’s competition.

Garnbret continues winning streak
Innsbruck – Olympic gold medallist Janja Garnbret won the World Cup lead event in Innsbruck on Sunday, becoming the first competitor to notch up 33 World Cup wins in climbing.
The win comes after a long break – she last competed in early April – during which she eschewed bouldering events to focus on lead, in particular the European Championship in August.

Ljubljana – After winning gold at the Tokyo Summer Olympics, Slovenia’s sports climbing superstar Janja Garnbret will be paid tribute with a documentary film that follows her training for the competition along with three other climbers.

Ljubljana – Slovenian climber Janja Garnbret, who won a gold medal in sport climbing at the Tokyo Olympics, has set a new milestone by becoming the first woman to climb an 8c-rated route on-sight, according to the Slovenian Mountaineering Association.

Bulgarian Atanas Skatov Successfully Climbed his 10th Eight-Thousander
On October 3, Bulgarian climber Atanas Skatov summited Dhaulagiri (8,176 m), which the 7th highest mountain in the world, BNT reported.
This is the tenth eighth-thousander the 41-year-old Bulgarian climbed after his ascent of Kanchengjong (8,586 m) on May 15, Gasherbrum I (8080 M0 on July 12 and Gasherbrum II (8035 m) on July 18th.
Conqueror of four of the world’s highest peaks
Greek climber Antonis Sykaris holds up the Greek flag atop one of four peaks with an altitude of more than 8,000 meters in the Himalayas that he scaled within a period of one year - the first Greek to do so - in this photo released on Saturday. His most recent achievement was the conquest of Mt Lhotse (8,516 meters) on May 14.
