A 15-year-old boy in a village outside of Patra on the western coast of the Peloponnese was attacked by his father and uncle and sent to the hospital because he admitted to them that he was gay.
What a courageous young man! To come out to your Greek father in rural Greece, and many other places for that matter, requires an extraordinary dose of courage.

Over 50 pct of Turkish youth express happiness: Data
Some 15 percent of Türkiye's population was made up of young people in the 15-24 age group in 2023, with more than half of its 12.8 million young people expressing satisfaction with their lives, shows data by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

Kissing protest in response to Ambrosios homophobic statements outside Athens Cathedral
The Greek homosexual community are responding to the negative blog post against them by Greek Orthodox Bishop Ambrosios Kalavryta and Aigialeia with a kissing protest outside Athens cathedral (Mitropoli). The high-level church representative had called on people to “spit” and “blacken” gays and atheists with violence, stating that they are “freaks of nature”, “scum” and “faulty”.
Gay Happiness Index ranks 127 countries
If you are part of the LGBT community then you should look to the North of Europe. A gay dating and information network called Planet Romeo published a very interesting report this week, ranking the happiness levels of gay men across the world. The “Gay Happiness Index” showed Iceland in first place, and Uganda in last.

Turkey’s first openly gay referee gets German anti-homophobia award
A Turkish referee who was dropped by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) after coming out as gay has received the Respect Award, given Nov. 24 annually by the Berlin-based LGBT rights nongovernmental organization Alliance Against Homophobia.
