Facebook users in Greece were inundated with virus-infected porn over recent days via a backdoor Trojan, with the police electronic crimes unit issuing a warning due to the rapid spread of the malicious software.
The initial porn post appears as having been shared by a friend of the account’s user, with a tag included. Up to 20 “friends” can be included.

MEP Ramona Manescu on Friday said that because of its resources, Romania can get involved and succeed in Europe's cybersecurity as a leading partner in the shaping up of policies and their implementation.

Hackers broke into US government computers, possibly compromising the personal data of 4 million current and former federal employees, and investigators were probing whether the culprits were based in China, US officials said on June 4.

The US government on June 4 admitted hackers accessed the personal data of at least four million current and former federal employees, in a vast cyber-attack suspected to have originated in China.

"As a result of the incident," uncovered in April, the Office of Personnel Management said it "will send notifications to approximately four million individuals."  

The USA informed that the personal financial data of up to four million current and former government officials may have been breached by a cyber attack reportedly originating from China.

Credit card data, banking records and other forms of financial information could have been stolen in the attack, USA Today reports.

The 4.2 per cent economic growth in the first quarter of 2015 compared with the first quarter of last year is an above expectations result and Romania is going in the right direction, the Prime Minister said on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Monday told opening of a cyber security summit in Bucharest that all countries in the region needed to work on cyber security issues together with the US, "as we are facing cyber threats and vulnerability".

Representatives of 17 countries in Central and Eastern Europe are attending the summit and presenting cyber security policies.

Cybersecurity and trust in public services are a national priority with the Romanian Government, and in the current context, Romania is advocating the adoption of a new legislative package that regards personal data protection, Romania's Minister of Information Society Sorin Grindeanu told a Regional Cybersecurity Summit hosted by Parliament Palace in Bucharest.

Prime Minister Victor Ponta, on Monday, in the opening of the Regional Cyber Security Summit, said that Romania represents a stronghold of security in a complicated region, where difficult wars are being carried out, especially in the energy area.

The Ministry for Information Society together with the US Department of Commerce and the Commercial Service of the US Embassy in Bucharest are organising in the following three days at the Palace of the Parliament a Regional Cyber Security Summit, the US Embassy in Bucharest informs.
