Confidence in economy, inflation expectations improve

Confidence in the Turkish economy improved, while inflation expectations declined in October, separate surveys from the Central Bank and the statistics authority have shown.

The economic confidence index rose for a second month in raw, rising 3.2 percent in October from September, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said on Oct. 30.

Consumer morale improves for third straight month: Data

Consumer morale continued to improve for a third month in a row, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on Oct. 23.

The consumer confidence index rose by 3 percent month-on-month in October, followed by 0.6 percent and 2.4 percent increases recorded in August and September, respectively.

Consumer morale improves for second consecutive month

The consumer confidence index increased by 2.4 percent month-on-month in September, after inching up 0.6 percent in August.

The index climbed from 76.4 last month to 78.2 this month, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) showed on Sept. 20.

Any figure above the 100 mark indicates optimism among consumers.

Economic confidence index slips in August: Data

The headline economic confidence index declined but consumer morale, one of the major components of the index, improved in August, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) showed on Aug. 29.

The economic confidence index was down 1.3 percent in August from July to 93.1 points, remaining below the 100 mark, which separates optimism from pessimism.

The economic confidence index, a vital gauge, fell 1.5 percent month-on-month to 94.4 in July, after declining 2.5 percent in June.

Any index value above the 100 mark indicates an optimistic outlook about the general economic situation.

Economic confidence index falls in June

A survey by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK) has shown that confidence in the economy further eroded.

The economic confidence index declined for a third month in a row, falling 2.5 percent month-on-month to 95.8 in June, the statistics authority said on June 27.

The gauge of confidence was down 1 percent in April and declined 0.8 percent in May.
