Interior ministry "to work on counter-terrorism strategy"

BELGRADE -- Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic has said that his ministry "will be actively engaged in the fight against terrorism."

France will implement ''exceptional'' measures to reinforce its counter-terrorism efforts, Prime Minister Manuel Valls said on Wednesday following armed attacks by Islamic militants in Paris earlier this month.

"Serbia ready for actions against terrorism"

BELGRADE -- President Tomislav Nikolic has said that the attack on the Charlie Hebdo offices "shows the extent to which the relations in the world have been disturbed."

He at the same time stressed that Serbia was "ready to take part in all actions to counter terrorism."

Christodoulos Xeros, the convicted member of the November 17 terrorist group, was arrested near Athens on Saturday, a year after he disappeared while on furlough from Korydallos Prison.

 A second suspect has been arrested for allegedly opening fire on two Los Angeles police, the FBI said Thursday, with the United States still on edge over the murders of two New York officers.
      
The alleged shooter, James Brooks, 19, was arrested Wednesady in Las Vegas, the FBI said in a statement.
