US military failed in rescue attempt for journalist Foley

Edward Snowden has applied for asylum in Brazil, as the former NSA contractor and whistleblower himself announced in an interview.
"If Brazil offers me asylum, then I'll gladly accept it. I would like to live in Brazil," the Moscow Times quotes him as saying on Brazilian television channel Globo News.

Chepurin conveys Lavrov's message to Mrkic
BELGRADE - Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Alexander Chepurin has conveyed Russia's position on the situation in Ukraine to Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic.
Chepurin met with Mrkic on Wednesday and conveyed a message from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the Serbian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, but did not elaborate on the message.
