Turkey lowers coronavirus vaccine eligibility age to 40
Turkey has lowered the vaccine eligibility age to 40, the Turkish health minister announced on June 13.
"If you are 40 or older, you can make an appointment as of this morning. We expect 100% participation," Fahrettin Koca wrote on Twitter.
Koca said earlier that nearly 450,000 coronavirus vaccine doses were administrated on June 12.
Food sector, hairdressers added to vaccine priority groups
Turkey has added new group of professionals, including people working in the eatery sector, drivers, lawyers and barbers, to its vaccination program that has been gaining momentum lately.
This week citizens aged 45 and older already started receiving their COVID-19 injections, while the vaccinations of people over the age of 40 will begin early next week.
Musicians, academics added to Turkey’s vaccination program
Turkey has widened its vaccination program to cover new groups, including academics, university staff, and musicians, as well as movie and TV series production crews.
"We will remove the outbreak from the country's agenda as soon as possible as we add more professionals and age groups to the inoculation program by the day," Health Minister Fahrettin Koca wrote on Twitter.
Vaccination pace picking up
Ljubljana – The pace of vaccination is gradually picking up in Slovenia. Almost 132,000 shots were administered last week, up by about thirty percent from the week before, show data by the tracker Covid-19 Sledilnik.

Over 29 million doses of jab administered
The total number of COVID-19 vaccines administered in Turkey has exceeded 29 million doses.
The country rolled out its inoculation program in mid-January, starting with health care workers and the elderly.
Since then, it has been gradually expanding the scope of the inoculation drive to cover more age groups and people at risk.
