Approximately 258 million people or 3.4% of the entire population of the planet do not live in the country in which they were born.
This points to the results of the International Migration Report published on Monday by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. It also points out that in less than 17 years the number of newcomers has increased by 49%.
Bulgaria Abortions Almost Equal Births
The number of abortions in Bulgaria almost equals the number of births. These figures were presented by former Social Minister Hristina Hristova.
The coefficient of fertility in our country is 1.5 and in Europe is 1.53. This is due to the longer process of preparation, education, financial independence.

NSI: Bulgarian Population Decreased by 0,7% in 2016 Compared to 2015
As of December 31, 2016 Bulgaria's population is 7,101,8 people, which is 1.4% of the EU population. According to the National Statistical Institute in its report on ''Population and Demographic Processeses in 2016'', released today, the process of declining and aging of the population in Bulgaria continues.
Compared to 2015 the population decreased by 0.7% or by 51,951 people.
Serbia could face labor shortage after 2040 - experts
Serbia may have a shortage of 80,000 to 100,000 workers after 2040, with fewer people of working age and due to emigration and reduced population growth.
Economist Ivan Nikolic said this during the presentation of the latest issue of the Macroeconomic Analysis and Trends (MAT) publication, Beta is reporting.
