Quake, 4.7, hits Kilkis

A 4.7 Richter earthquake hit the town of Kilkis, in northern Greece, early on Saturday.

According to the Athens Geodynamic Institute, the tremor's epicenter was located 18 kilometers west of the town.

Several aftershocks followed the initial tremor, though there were no reports of injuries or damage. 
 

Corfu rattled by 4.1 Richter temblor

A mild earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale hit the Ionian island of Corfu late Saturday, the Geodynamic Institute in Athens reported.

According to the institute, the tremor occurred 33 kilometers off the island's north coast at a depth of 10 kilometers.

There were no reports of injuries or damage. 

New Strong Quake Shakes Italy

A 6.6-magniture earthquake has hit Norcia in central Italy, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reports.

Earlier this week, major tremors struck the country's central area, but Sunday's quake has been the largest so far.

There have been no immediate reports of injuries. 

7.1 magnitude earthquake strikes central Italy

BELGRADE - A powerful 7.1 magnitude earthquake has hit central Italy, Reuters reports citing the United States Geological Survey and local broadcasters. This comes only three days after two more tremors shook the region on Wednesday, leaving villages partly destroyed.

There were no immediate reports on damage or casualties caused by the quake.

6.6 earthquake hits Japan

A powerful earthquake with a suspected magnitude of 6.6 has shaken western Japan,
The Meteorological Agency said the earthquake occurred Friday at 2:10 p.m. (0510 GMT) in Japan’s western prefecture of Tottori, about 700 kilometers (430 miles) west of Tokyo, at a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles) underground.
