Five quakes in Marmara and Aegean Seas raise renewed concerns
Five consecutive earthquakes that occurred in the Marmara and Aegean seas in the last 24 hour have renewed fears that Turkey is not prepared for a strong temblor, even though the country has previously witnessed devastating seismic activity.
Magnitude 7 earthquake triggers small tsunami in Japan
A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck off Kyushu on the south-western coast of Japan at 5.51 a.m. (local time) on Saturday near the Sendai atomic plant. The quake had a depth of about 10 kilometers.
Moderate quake recorded off Crete
An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale was recorded at 9:26 a.m. (07.26 GMT) in a sea region south of the large island of Crete, according to the Geodynamic Institute in Athens.
The tremor was felt throughout central Crete. The epicenter was listed at 52 kilometers south of the city of Irakleio.

4-Magnitude Earthquake in Greece Felt in Bulgaria
An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale was registered Tuesday morning in Greece near the country's border with Bulgaria, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The earthquake struck at 7:03 a.m. on Tuesday.

3-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Southwestern Bulgaria
An earthquake of magnitude 3 on the Richter scale was registered in southwestern Bulgaria on Thursday.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 2 kilometres, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) informs.
Its epicentre was 9 kilometres northeast of the town of Simitli, 12 kilometres southeast of Blagoevgrad and 85 kilometres south of the capital Sofia.

Evia 5.3 Richter quake shakes Athens
An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck north of Athens at 4.09 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, the tremor?s epicenter was located in the seabed, some 26 kilometers northwest of Halkida, Evia.

Powerful Quake Hits off Sothern Japan
A 7.8-magnitude earthquake deep under the ocean off Japan's southern coast shook buildings in Tokyo on Saturday but no casualties or significant injuries and damage were immediately reported.
No tsunami alert has been issued.

At Least 108 Killed in Nepal Earthquake - Report
The death toll in the massive 7.9 magnitude earthquake in Nepal has risen to at least 108 people.
According to reports of Al Jazeera, based on an initial estimate of local authorities in Nepal, at least 108 people were killed in the earthquake and dozens were injured.
The eartquake, which struck at 11:56am local time, caused extensive damage to buildings.

3.6-Magnitude Earthquake Registered near Bulgaria's Samokov
An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale was registered early on Tuesday on Bulgarian territory, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The earthquake struck at 4:05 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the EMSC, as cited by the BGNES news agency.
The epicenter was located 5km southeast of the town of Samokov and 50km southeast of Sofia.
Cephalonia hit by 4.2 Richter earthquake
An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale struck the Ionian island of Cephalonia, at 7.38 a.m. on Saturday.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
The Geodynamic Institute said the epicenter of the quake was 14 kilometers northwest of the island.
