Chiritoiu: Restructuring of Hunedoara, Oltenia Energy Complexes to affect Romania's electricity market
Romania's electricity market will be affected this year by the implementation of the restructuring plans at the Hunedoara and Oltenia Energy Complexes, but these measures are set forth in the understandings with the international financial institutions, the stakes being the state aid, says Competition Council's President Bogdan Chiritoiu.
Bulgarian Energy Distribution Companies Accused of Illegal Price Boosting Practices
The Bulgarian Commission for Protection of Competition issued official statement Thursday that the three electricity distribution companies in Bulgaria CEZ, EVN and Energo Pro have committed a violation to articles 21 of the Law on Competition Protection.

RAE offers gift to natural gas power plants

The Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE) intends to restore subsidies to private-owned natural gas-operated electricity production units amounting to 500 million euros per year, citing arguments that appear outrageous given its role and the financial state of the country.

Albania Energy Companies Accused of Illegal Tenders
Opposition leader Lulzim Basha accused the public utility company OSHEE of buying electricity from traders at the price of 57 euro per MWh, while at the same time the Albania Power Corporation, KESH, was selling traders electricity for 38 euro per MWh.
"All this abuse cost Albanian taxpayers four million euro in two weeks," Basha told a press conference on Friday.
Hundreds Stage Protest Over CEZ Power Failures in Bulgaria's Lozen
Close to 400 protesters from the Sofia village of Lozen gathered on Sunday to express their dissatisfaction with the services of CEZ electricity distribution company.
They attempted to block the southern wing of the Sofia inter-city road. Several people even tried to block the way to Trakiya motorway, but police forces stopped them.

CEZ Bulgaria Blames Losses on Decisions of Regulatory Authority
The power distribution and power supply companies of CEZ in Bulgaria, CEZ Razpredelenie Bulgaria AD and CEZ Electro Bulgaria AD, have reported a joint loss of BGN 6.5 M for the first nine months of 2014, according to a media statement of CEZ Bulgaria.
