Kore torso sculpture to be displayed at Ankara museum

A "Kore torso" — a statue body without the head and arms — that was auctioned in the U.K. and returned to Türkiye after being proven smuggled from the ancient city of Miletus in the western province of Aydın's Didim district, will soon be exhibited at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in Ankara.

Inspired by Elefsina's ancient and post-industrial history, as well as its architecture and overall esthetic, German multimedia and performance artist Heiner Goebbels presents a project titled "7 Columns" at the West Attica town's Old Oil Mill (1 Kanellopoulou) as part of ongoing events for Elefsina European Capital of Culture 2023 (2023eleusis.eu).

Gate of Hell opens to visitors

The Gate of Hell, (Plutonium), which was unearthed in 2013 by the Italian excavation team in Pamukkale, one of Türkiye's UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites, has been opened to visitors. Plutonium, which is called the "gateway to the land of the dead" in ancient sources, began hosting hundreds of local and foreign tourists on the very first day.

Gate of Hell to open to visitors

The Gate of Hell (Plutonium), which was discovered in 2013 in the excavations in the ancient city of Hierapolis, located next to Pamukkale in western Turkey, and which was considered as the "gateway to the land of the dead" in the ancient world, is set to be opened to visitors this year.
