The Metropolitan Community Clinic will be holding its annual Christmas bazaar at the Community Center of Elliniko-Argyroupoli, on the premises of the former US Air Force base on Vouliagmenis Avenue, on Sunday, December 4. There will be a sale of handmade items as well as games and activities for children. Also on the day's program is a barbecue and various homemade treats.

Bulk of privatization revenues postponed until 2017
The draft budget tabled on Monday in Parliament provides for major privatization projects to start fetching revenues into the state coffers from 2017, as they will not be completed before the new year.
They concern the regional airports, gas grid operator DESFA, railway service operator Trainose, the Elliniko development in southern Athens etc.

A hopeful sign
The ratification by Parliament of a bill for the privatization of the former airport plot at Elliniko, on the southern coast of Athens, is a very positive development, and particularly so as it was backed by a significant majority of MPs.

Elliniko bill reaches Parliament
The bill for the concession of the old Athens airport at Elliniko to a consortium led by Lamda Development was tabled by the government in Parliament on Thursday without the clause proposed by the Culture Ministry.
That clause would have made the Culture Ministry a competent authority for all decisions related to the project, potentially hampering it in the process.

Four arrested for illegal street racing
Four people were arrested at the weekend for participating in illegal races on a major avenue in the Elliniko area of southern Athens.
The four men, aged between 19 and 29, were detained as part of a wider sweep early Saturday morning by police who registered 147 traffic violations.
