There is no control over assessment of what is emergent and to what extent, lawyer says

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban announced on Thursday that he will take over the leadership of the National Committee for Emergency Situations, to be seconded by three vice-presidents. He said the decision was made to strengthen the authority of the National Committee for Emergency Situations.

The National Committee for Emergency Situations will declare the state of alert on Thursday, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban said. "Today, the National Committee for Emergency Situations will declare the state of alert within the emergency situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic.

Anyone who goes on holiday abroad will then have to be quarantined for 14 days. Despite the fall of the state of emergency the measure remains in force, assured the Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev.

He explained that the threat has not yet passed. "No one can say when the disease will peak again" Ananiev said.

Monica Macovei, an independent candidate in the November presidential election, declared that if one of her opponents Victor Ponta, Klaus Iohannis, Calin Popescu Tariceanu or Elena Udrea wins the presidency, the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) "no longer exists".
