Government to meet army and police to discuss restoring wages
A meeting is expected to take place between representative of the government, armed forces and emergency services at the State General Accounting Office on Tuesday to decide on how soldiers and policemens wages will be restored.
A Council of State ruling earlier this year ordered the government to scrap the 10 percent reduction of salaries in the armed forces and emergency services, which was introduced in 2012.
This is expected to cost the government an initial sum of 500-600 million euros. Greece has given the troika assurances that it will implement measures to make up for this fiscal shortfall.
