Two military pilots will join the second and third groups that are earmarked to go to the US to be trained to pilot F-16 fighter jets, said Deputy Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov at the sitting of the parliamentary defense committee.

Turkey's prime minister conveyed his condolences to his Greek counterpart on April 12 over the death of a fighter pilot when the Greek jet crashed into the Aegean Sea.

Two fighter pilots of the Hellenic Air Force were reported as being safe and well on Thursday after their jet went down off the southern coast of Crete earlier in the day.

The pilots, who were flying the F16 jet as part of an educational exercise, ejected from the craft before it nosedived into the sea. They were rescued shortly after.
