Foreign relations of Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe authorities have announced a new official holiday for the country to protest against US sanctions, the Associated Press reported.

Zimbabwean military have attained the power this night in the country. In an address on their state-run television, however, they deny having made a coup and assuring that 93-year-old President Robert Mugabe is safe.

Norway is closing several diplomatic missions around the globe, its embassy in Bulgaria included, the country's government has said.

At the same time Oslo is boosting its diplomatic presence in other places such as Haiti and southern India.
