The retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, the former director of Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), who called Fethullah Gülen a "shady Islamic mullah" in an op-ed he wrote on the U.S. Election Day, is the subject of this article.

The Turkish Defense Ministry suspended 291 military personnel including 168 naval forces officers on Nov.13, over alleged links to the U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, believed to have masterminded the failed July 15 coup attempt in Turkey, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported. 

Turkish judicial authorities arrested the CEO of daily Cumhuriyet on Nov. 12, a day after he was detained as he arrived at Istanbul Atatürk Airport following a trip to Germany.

Akın Atalay was arrested for "being a member of a terrorist organization."

The CEO's lawyer, Bahri Belen, released a statement, saying they would continue to defend "law until the very end."

Some figures from the Gülen Movement under the U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, who is accused of the July 15 failed coup attempt, made nearly $2 million donation to defeated Democratic Party presidential candidate Hillary Clinton during her campaign, according to a Democratic source, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Nov. 12.

All people who have used ByLock, an encrypted messaging application said to have been used by followers of the U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, are categorically considered members of the movement, according to a prosecutor's indictment, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported. 

Turkish President Recep Erdogan has stated that it is possible for 3 million migrants to head to Europe and accused the European Union of the lack of financial support while his country is spending billions on them.

The arrested Turkish justice of the U.N.'s Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT), Aydın Sefa Akay, has denied accusations that he has ties to the Gülen movement, saying that in fact he is a Freemason.

The High Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK) has concluded that the six judges and two prosecutors who worked on the Ergenekon case, prosecuting 274 suspects on charges of attempting to overthrow the government of the time, were serving the movement of U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen.
