Nobel laureate J. Stiglitz points to EU deficit… in democracy!
Nobel laureate economist Joseph Stiglitz gave an interview just hours before Greece’s snap election on September 20. He said that Grexit should be viewed as a last resort for Athens. “The Grexit is no good solution, but if the Troika continues to insist on measures that stifle the economy, the Greeks should leave the eurozone,” he said.
French FinMin says Schauble wrong on Grexit
In an interview to German Handeslblatt French Finance Minister Michel Sapin blasted his German counterpart Wolfgang Schauble on his plan for a temporary Grexit. Sapin points out that Schauble is in the wrong on the Greek issue, adding “…he contradicts his own will for Europe”.

S&P upgrades Greece’s sovereign rating; outlook now stable
Standard & Poor’s on Tuesday upgraded Greece’s sovereign credit rating to CCC+ from CCC-, with the ratings firm going further and revising the country’s outlook to stable from negative.
In a statement, S&P said it believes the possibility of Greece leaving the euro zone by 2018 (Grexit) has fallen to lower than 50 percent, although adding that the risk “is still high.”
Krugman overestimated the SYRIZA government (vids)
Nobel laureate and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman said he overestimated the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) government of Greece during a discussion on how a Grexit would impact the EU with CNN host Fareed Zakaria.

France assembly overwhelmingly approves of Greek bailout
French lawmakers overwhelmingly approved the latest Greek bailout deal on Wednesday, with Prime Minister Manuel Valls warning that it was the only path out of the crisis.
The French National Assembly (the lower house) backed the agreement by 412 votes to 69. The Senate vote followed, 260 approving opposed to 23 against.
French petition to kick Germany out of Euro
The word ‘Grexit’, which refers to a possible exit of Greece from the Eurozone will most probably be added into the English dictionary, as it has entered into our vocabulary over the past year or so. A different version of that is the ‘Germanexit’, which is not as much in the fore, as a German exit from the Eurozone seems quite unlikely…Might this change, however?
