Charity Initiative: Wardrobe For the Poor

A group of youngsters from Gorna Oryahovitsa try to help the poor and homeless. 

Young help those who have no money for clothing, as installed in the city center wardrobe full of clothes, shoes and accessories for all ages. The initiators say that wardrobe is also a provocation to all who will use it and donate the clothes.

11 People Died in a Fire in Japan

At least 11 people were killed in a fire in a shelter in the Japanese city of Sapporo. Victims are homeless. The building was owned by an organization assisting poor and elderly people. Five other residents of the social center were rescued by firefighters, three of whom were injured. The police still have no version of the incident.

174 people spent the night at the crisis centre for homeless people in the Zaharna Fabrika district in Sofia, head of the centre Pepi Dzhurenov told Focus Radio. 16 of them were examined by a doctor, some were referred to hospitals.

Dzhurenov assured that the crisis centre is prepared to provide shelter for anyone in need given the forecast for cold weather.

A Homeless Man Stole EUR 500,000 at the Paris Airport and Hid Away

The homeless man, who stole hundreds of thousands of euros in December from Charles de Gaulle airport in Roissy near Paris, remains undetectable. So far, it has been estimated that the stolen money amounts to 300,000 euros. Now, according to a source close to the investigation, the stolen sum amounted to 490,000 euros, the France press reported.

181 people spent the night at the crisis centre for homeless people in Bulgaria's capital Sofia, its director Pepi Dzhurenov told FOCUS News Agency. It was a normal night, except that a person was causing trouble after drinking alcohol. The problem was solved and there were no incidents, he said.

City of Athens dishes up Christmas lunch for 1,000

The City of Athens served about 1,000 people at its free Christmas lunch which took place at an indoor stadium in the district of Rouf, west of the city center.

Dozens of municipal employees and volunteers helped serve the dinners - which were this year donated by supermarket chain Lidl - mostly to poor families and homeless persons.
