British artist Jesse Darling won the prestigious Turner Prize on Dec. 5 for his sculptures and installations that invoke societal breakdown.

The 41-year-old, who now lives in Berlin, pipped Ghislaine Leung, Rory Pilgrim and Barbara Walker to the £25,000 ($30,000) award.

Three masked individuals broke into the house of Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomeos in Istanbul on Saturday evening, according to a report in a newspaer of the Greek diaspora.

Vartholomeos was attending a social gathering and the housekeeper was the only person in the premises, Anatoli reported.

An Istanbul court has issued another arrest warrant for the man who assaulted a woman on an Istanbul public bus in September, a day after prosecutors objected to his release pending trial during the first court hearing on Oct. 26. 

Hugh Laurie and his The Copper Bottom Band will have a concert in Sofia on July 11. 

Laurie, who shot into world fame with his role as Dr. Gregory House in the "House M.D." TV series, issued his debut blues album “Let Them Talk” in 2011.
