Bulgaria Sees Decline in New Residential Buildings

Preliminary data from the National Statistical Institute reveals a decrease in the number of residential buildings and dwellings constructed in Bulgaria during the July-September period. A total of 1,239 buildings were completed, housing 5,085 new dwellings, marking a decrease of 7.3% in buildings and a 14.4% drop in dwellings compared to the same quarter in 2022.

People in Bulgaria are increasingly choosing a home instead of an apartment for their new home. At least such a trend has been observed in recent statistics on commissioned dwellings. It turns out that between April and June, two out of every three commissioned new residential buildings are houses.

Stevia Hellas Cooperative planning investments totaling 8 million euros

Stevia Hellas Cooperative, a Greek company producing products based on extracts of stevia plant, is planning to invest a total of 8 million euros for the creation of a unit to process stevia leaves and produce the final products, company CEO Christos Stamatis told US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt during the latter's brief visit at the cooperative's headquarters in Lamia last week.

Plovdiv, Burgas and Varna with most Residential Buildings put into Operation

According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute, the number of new buildings put in operation in the first quarter of 2018 was 565 and the newly constructed apartments were 1 530. Compared to the first quarter of 2017, the buildings were 103 more, or 22.3% increase, while the dwellings in them decreased by 221, or by 12.6%, the NSI reported.
