Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta sent a letter to the leaders of the main political parties on Thursday asking them to back the candidate of Romania for European Regional Policy Commissioner, Corina Cretu.

Opinion poll: Ponta ahead of Iohannis in first, second round of presidential election

The "Szeklers' Land" autonomy project to be submitted to the Parliament will be in public debate this month, said on Saturday in Covasna (central Romania) the UDMR (Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania) chairman, Kelemen Hunor.
According to Kelemen Hunor, the document was drafted in Romanian, its Hungarian translation being currently underway.

UDMR (Democratic Union of Hungarian in Romania) Senator, Verestoy Attila, on Friday told RFI broadcaster that, in his opinion, UDMR should stay at rule. Moreover, he stated that a possible resignation of the UDMR leader from the government doesn't necessarily mean the party should leave too.
