Clean hands revolution saving lives

In just 18 months, a pioneering program in Greece has averted approximately 60 deaths and 500 hospital-acquired infections, officials report. Launched in late 2021, the initiative targets a common yet often deadly complication in hospitals: central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI).

Athens creating Municipal Cleanliness Police force

The creation of the Municipal Cleanliness Police to monitor the daily schedule for the collection of waste and the cleaning of the city was announced by local authorities on Monday.

Speaking to Athens 9.84 radio, Deputy Mayor for Cleanliness and Recycling of the Municipality of Athens Roxani Bei stressed that the role of the police will not be to collect fines, but advisory.

Companies are now making toys not for children but for grown-ups, baby food companies are active in special and clinical nutrition products for adults, with some targeting those with diabetes and others offering nutritional supplements, while some that manufacture baby wipes are now producing incontinence diapers instead of baby nappies.
