Exports increase more than 8 percent to $20 billion in July
Exports increased by 8.3 percent in July from a year ago after plunging nearly 11 percent in the previous month, the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) have shown.
The country's export revenues amounted to $20 billion last month.
Agriculture and food exports generate $12.2 billion in revenue
Türkiye's agriculture, food and drinks industry has generated a total of $12.23 billion in export revenues in the first six months of 2023.
The industry's imports, on the other hand, amounted to $12.46 billion, according to the Federation of Food and Drink Industry Associations (TGDF).
Export and imports rose 1 percent and nearly 18 percent, respectively, from a year ago.
Türkiye aims to increase e-exports to 10 percent
The Trade Ministry will support local firms with an aim to increase the share of e-exports in the country's total exports from 1.5 percent to 10 percent.

Notable drop in Greece’s current account deficit in Jan-May
Greece's current account deficit fell by 431.3 million euros year-on-year to stand at €1.6 billion, the Bank of Greece said on Friday.
In a monthly report the central bank said that the reduction in the goods deficit could be attributed to a larger drop in imports than exports in absolute terms.
Bulgarian Exports to Third Countries Increased by 8.7%
In the period January - May, the export of goods from Bulgaria to third countries increased by 8.7% compared to the same period of 2022 and was worth 13.380 billion leva. Bulgaria's main trading partners are Turkey, the United Kingdom, China, the United States , Ukraine, Serbia and the Republic of North Macedonia, which form 55.2% of exports to third countries.
Automotive exports top $3 billion in June
The Turkish automotive industry's exports grew by 9 percent year-on-year in June to more than $3 billion, according to the Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OİB).
For a third time this year, monthly exports were above the $3 billion mark, said Baran Çelik, the board chair of OİB.

Trade deficit posts 11% drop in May
The Greek trade deficit shrank 11% in May during a month which showed a 15.4% drop in exports and a 13.6% decline in imports, the Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.

Foreign trade in Turkish Lira up 129 percent
Türkiye's foreign trade volume in Turkish Lira has increased by 129 percent in the January-June period to 349.5 billion liras data showed from the Trade Ministry.
Exports in the local currency amounted to 94.6 billion liras in the first half of this year, while the figure was 254.9 billion liras for imports.
