Professors at Ioannina University quit en masse
In a show of support for students in the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Ioannina in northwestern Greece, the department's professors submitted their resignations en masse to the rector, because of the non-granting of professional rights to faculty graduates.

Teen shot at traffic policeman in Ioannina
A teenager who fired at a traffic police officer with an air pistol was arrested on Sunday in Ioannina, northwestern Greece, local authorities said on Monday.
The 15-year-old was charged with violating weapons laws.

Pregnant woman beaten by father in Ioannina
A 22-year-old woman, who is in the sixth month of her pregnancy, has filed charges of physical injury against her father.
The woman alleges that she was verbally abused and beaten by her father on Sunday in the northwestern city of Ioannina.
The woman was taken to hospital where doctors confirmed that the baby was not in danger.
Her father is being sought by police.

Why aren’t seaplanes flying?
How many years will it be before seaplanes start flying in Greece? The answer is difficult. Since 2009 for all governments the return of amphibious aircraft, which can shrink the time needed to travel from Patra to Ioannina to about half an hour, has been a priority.
