Efforts by Israel and Turkey to restore their once strong relationship could be helped by the common threats they face from Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants and Iran, a senior Israeli diplomat said on July 21.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) ordered July 16 its chief prosecutor to review a decision not to probe Israel?s deadly raid on a Gaza-bound flotilla in 2010, saying ?errors were made.?

Israel deported Tunisian ex-president Moncef Marzouki and European parliament member Ana Miranda on June 30 after they took part in a flotilla seeking to defy its Gaza blockade, an official said.

The third "Gaza Freedom Flotilla" has left Greece's Crete Island and is expected to come close to the shores of Gaza within four days, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition said in an official statement June 27.
      

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu has confirmed ongoing talks with Israel aimed at reaching some form of rapprochement, while suggesting that undue emphasis should not be placed on the gatherings.

Senior Israeli and Turkish diplomats have recently held a secret meeting in the Italian capital city of Rome and renewed conciliation talks between the two estranged states, a leading Israeli daily newspaper reported.

Turkey and Israel currently share a common fate. General elections were held in Israel three months ago and a new coalition in the Knesset was only last month formed - and is still ?in flux.?

Turkey, on the other hand, held its own elections on June 7 and is currently in the phase of forming a coalition government.

BankPozitif Chairman Hasan Akçayal?o?lu confirmed various talks for a possible sale are the case, but there has not been any official decision yet. 

The International Criminal Court's preliminary examinations office has accepted an application from the relatives of the victims who were killed in Israel's 2010 raid on the "Mavi Marmara," a Gaza-bound flotilla ship, according to the victims' lawyer.
