T-Rex statue replaces 'Transformers' robot of Ankara
The Turkish capital's eccentric mayor has held his promise and removed a controversial Transformers-esque robot statue ?only to replace it with a large dinosaur figure.
Ankara mayor Gökçek to file lawsuit against HDP leader Demirta?
Peoples? Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirta? has accused Ankara Mayor Melih Gökçek of having private camera recordings of his party friends, which have allowed him to stay mayor for a long period of time.
Gökçek, from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), said on April 26 he will file a lawsuit against Demirta? and called on him to prove his claims.
Turkish capital's symbolic square renamed by municipality
The name of Ankara?s Tando?an Square has been changed to Anadolu Square following a decision by the municipal city council.
The name Tando?an comes from former Ankara Gov. Nevzat Tando?an, who was appointed in 1929.
Security staff prevented from accompanying bug search at Erdo?an's office
The third hearing into the case of illegal wiretapping at the offices of former prime minister, now President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, has revealed that a senior adviser for Erdo?an at the time prevented his security staff from accompanying a search by intelligence officials.
