New lighting system befitting of Poseidon
The official ceremony of the modern illumination of the ancient Temple of Poseidon on Cape Sounio took place on Monday evening to the imposing melodies of Greek composer Stavros Xarchakos.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in the presence of Culture Minister Lina Mendoni and guests from Greece and abroad.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday welcomed the appointment of Apostolos Tzitzikostas as the European Union's commissioner for sustainable transport and tourism, following Commission President Ursula von der Leyen's announcement of the executive's new makeup.
Government unveils measures to boost income and address housing crisis
According to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, the package of measures announced last Saturday in Thessaloniki by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and detailed during the week by the relevant ministries, aim to increase the disposable income of citizens.
These measures are focused on two main axes: increasing incomes and reducing taxes.
Advance implementation of state aid schemes in Thessaly
Following the devastating Storm Daniel that hit Thessaly and surrounding areas a year ago, the government activated state aid through the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection for households, businesses and farms.
